A woman who works in a hairdresser’s shop said she made $50,000 by selling her services to men she met on the Internet, and that the business is worth more than $1 million.
In a video posted on Instagram, the woman, who requested to remain anonymous, said she worked for a hairdressing salon for two years and had worked with about 40 men, who ranged in age from 30 to 70.
She said she sold her services on the internet to men who were looking for sexual gratification.
“I do it to get them off,” she said.
“I’m not trying to get a paycheck.
I’m just doing it because I love it.”
According to the video, the women have worked with men who range in age as young as 13 to men in their 50s and 60s.
The women said they earn about $30,000 annually, and the men in the video earn between $50 and $200 a day.
She did not specify how much money she makes from her business.
In February, the American Hairdresser Association warned that hairdresses are being exploited online by men looking for sex, but it said the profession remains unregulated.
The association said it is working with federal and state governments to regulate hairdriding, but said there is no uniform national standard for who should be paid.
“The problem of exploitation and abuse of hairdryers remains widespread,” it said in a statement.
“Hairdressers who are not professional, or have a criminal background, do not receive the same level of protection as those with professional or other criminal backgrounds.”
The American Hairdressing Association said it has contacted the US Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence to work on a response to the problem.
A spokesperson for the US Attorney’s Office in Alexandria, Virginia, told the BBC that they had not received a response from the US attorney’s office in Alexandria.
The video comes as the industry is facing pressure to tighten up its safety rules, following a series of high-profile cases in which people and their families were hurt.
