The New York Post reports that the Jets traded for a quarterback and two offensive linemen in a deal for a third quarterback and offensive linemen, with the New York Daily News reporting that the deal includes a third defensive lineman.
The Jets also acquired a second-round pick, according to the Daily News.
According to the Jets website, the Jets were in need of a quarterback, but the team’s quarterback situation was so poor that the team drafted Matt Barkley, the first overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, in the first round.
The team’s current quarterback, Geno Smith, was signed in 2014 and is expected to start for the Jets this season.
In a separate development, the team announced that the head coach for the 2016 season has been named as Jeff Fisher.
